A year ago Damiano did everything he could to join the team of correspondents of the TV program LE IENE.
Just when he had given up hope, he managed to get Pope Francis to give him his skullcap.
Today we tell you this unlikely story and what we want to do to make sure that Damiano’s tale really does have a happy ending…
The proceeds from the auction will help Sister Maria Concetta help babies in Zongo
Thanks to Damiano’s idea and Pope Francis’ skullcap, we would like to help Sister Maria Concetta’s Children’s Hospital, at “San Giuseppe di Genoni” mission, in Zongo, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In Zongo, women have always just given birth wherever they happened to be: at home or in the forest.
But the luckiest among them can count on the help of Sister Maria Concetta, who has attended the births of hundreds of children over the past fifty years.
In a place where life expectancy does not exceed 48 and half of the population contracts HIV, Sister Maria Concetta and her hospital represent an outpost of education, solidarity and preventive care.
